about

This blog is about interaction design: I am doing this blog for myself, to organize the things I find and hear about. This blog is also for my students to see what I am right now interested in and which directions I am looking at. Last but not least, this blog is maybe also inspiring for others, who want to know more about what Interaction Design could be…

My name is Reto Wettach. I have been in the field of Interaction Design for quite a while now, first with IDEO in San Francisco, then with Sony in Tokyo. Now I am teaching Interface Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Potsdam, Germany. I am also heading the Interaction Design Lab IDL, where we do research in that field.

Besides all this computer stuff, I am interested in weird places and little adventures. With my partner Michaela Vieser I published a book on Overlooked Sights in Germany.

Any comments, links or questions are welcome.

Hello Reto-san,

Greetings from India!
I just happened to browse into this page, while looking for latest interaction technologies. I am very glad to know that you are very much active in the field of interaction design. I do not know if you can recollect me, I am Jaison a junior engineer who was working with you from the software architecture labs at bangalore, when you were with Sony, Tokyo. The concept and the UI which you have devised for the killer application for TV is still new!! You have immense talent and creativity to usher in an all new world of interaction- I wish you all the very best in the field. I look forward to great things from you…will sure watch this space. When you find time please mail me, am eager to know about the latest happenings in interaction design.

Hello Reto Wettach,

I am an interaction design student in London; and I have been browsing for any exhibitions to attend when I stubbled on your page.

I have a great passion for interaction design and I love going to places for inspiration.

Can you point me to any place or recent exhibition that I can attend in London or surrounding areas that has to do more with interaction design?

Hope to hear from you soon. Many Thanks

Phyllis
